President

Letter from the President:

The International Baccalaureate Program at Pensacola High School provides academically motivated students with an outstanding, well-rounded educational experience.  This experience prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of higher education and beyond via an advanced curriculum, a focus on the world beyond their local community, and the ability to make meaningful contributions to society.  All of this is accomplished in concert with the International Baccalaureate Organization’s (www.ibo.org) principles and values.

The IB Support Foundation Board (IBSF) consists of 20 parent volunteers whose mission is to create a parental support structure for the IB administration, faculty and students that provides coordination of special projects and events, in addition to financial support, service and advocacy both within the IB Program and the community.  We accomplish this mission through annual fundraising activities – Membership and the IB Drive for Excellence, purchase of items requested by IB administration and faculty, and numerous student and family related activities.

Students in the IB program have had incredible success as evidenced by their acceptance at the most selective universities, the amazing amount of scholarships they are awarded each year and the numerous National Merit Scholars and AP Scholars produced.  We are so proud of their accomplishments and are thrilled to have provided $15,000, $25,000, and $22,000 in the 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010 school years, respectively, to meet the needs of the IB students, faculty and administration.  In the 2009-2010 school year, our IB: The Drive for Excellence was generously supported by our parents and the community with over $15,700 contributed!

On behalf of the IBSF Board, we appreciate the support of the outstanding IB program at Pensacola Highs School through the generous monetary donations and copious volunteer hours offered by parents, alumni and other members of the community.  We hope you continue to see the value of the International Baccalaureate education the students receive and will continue to support the IBSF.

Sincerely,

Debbie Stearns, President
